2. Objectives

By the end of this lesson, Ss will be able to:

  • Learn vocabulary related to types of houses and parts of a house.

  • Understand how to use will and be going to to talk about the future.

  • Express preferences and give reasons using because

  • Talk about changes using If I could change…, I would…

2.2. Competences

  • Be collaborative and supportive in pair work and team work

  • Access and consolidate information from a variety of sources

  • Develop speaking skills

  • Actively join in class activities

7. Evaluation

This section is for the teacher to self-evaluate the teaching and learning process after the lesson.

7.1. Teaching progress evaluation

Based on students’ participation in activities and use of English during speaking tasks:

  • Actively: Most students participate actively, volunteer answers, and use English confidently → Very successful

  • Quite actively: Some students participate actively, while others need support or prompting → Successful

  • Passively: Most students are hesitant and rarely use English without prompting → Unsuccessful

  • Very passively: Students do not participate unless called on by the teacher → Very unsuccessful

7.2. Student learning progress evaluation

Measured through the following aspects:

  • Use of target vocabulary: Students can use vocabulary (e.g., attic, garage, pollution, central heating) appropriately in speaking tasks

  • Use of target structures: Students can produce sentences using:

    • My favorite room is… because…

    • If I could…, I would… because…

  • Fluency and communication: Students can express ideas about their house or ideal house with reasonable fluency

  • Task completion: Students complete pair/group speaking tasks within the given time

  • Confidence: Students show willingness to speak and share ideas in English

Homework: Record a video in 1 to 2 minutes. 

  • Topic: My ideal room

  • 1–2 minutes

  • Use at least 3 words 

  • Speak naturally (don’t read)
