About Naval Academy
Through our practicum at the Naval Academy, we gained a clearer understanding of its vision and mission as not only a military training institution but also a dynamic educational environment. The Naval Academy aims to develop highly qualified naval officers while continuously improving the quality of education and research to meet the demands of national defense in a rapidly changing context. Rather than being abstract statements, these goals are reflected in the structured learning environment and the strong emphasis on discipline and professionalism that we observed during our visit.
What stood out to us most were the Naval Academy’s core values, particularly proactiveness, resilience, unity and discipline. These values are deeply rooted in its historical development and are consistently reflected in both teaching and learning practices. For instance, the emphasis on discipline and collaboration was evident in classroom interactions as well as in the organization of academic activities, suggesting that these values are actively enacted rather than merely stated.
About the Faculty of Basic Sciences
and Foreign Languages
At the Faculty of Basic Sciences and Foreign Languages, we observed how these institutional values are translated into educational practices. The Faculty plays a foundational role in equipping learners with essential knowledge in sciences, technology and foreign languages, while also promoting innovation in teaching. Notably, recent collaborative activities and teaching demonstrations highlighted a shift toward learner-centered and communicative approaches, aligning with current trends in English language teaching. This reflects the Faculty’s commitment to continuous development, adaptability and international integration.
Overall, our experience suggests that the vision and mission of the Naval Academy are closely connected to its daily practices. The alignment between institutional values and classroom implementation has provided us with valuable insights into how educational philosophy can be effectively realized in practice.
